Carolyn Mikulencak GRADUATE CLINICIAN INTERN
Carolyn Mikulencak is a graduate clinician intern completing her Master of Science in Counseling (Marriage and Family Therapy track) at Loyola University New Orleans. She provides psychotherapy under the direct clinical supervision of Dr. Leigh Anne Terrebonne, offering patients access to engaged, thoughtful care at a reduced fee.
Carolyn brings a rich and unconventional background to her clinical training. A published writer, former educator, and longtime student of Jungian psychology, she approaches therapy with genuine curiosity about the inner life — and a deep appreciation for the complexity of human experience. Her six-year training at the New Orleans Jung Society’s Analyst Training Program has given her a strong foundation in depth psychology, symbolic thinking, and the exploration of the unconscious. Her years in the classroom sharpened her ability to meet people where they are. Her work in the service industry and her experience as a mother have deepened her understanding of the practical, relational demands of everyday life.
Carolyn is drawn to work that takes seriously both the surface concerns a person brings to therapy and the deeper currents running beneath them. She is currently seeing patients for individual therapy and works closely with Dr. Terrebonne to ensure every patient receives attentive, well-supervised care.

Therapeutic Approach
Carolyn’s clinical perspective is informed by depth psychology and a genuine interest in each person’s unique story. She believes that the concerns that bring someone to therapy often point to something worth exploring more fully — and that the therapeutic relationship itself is a meaningful part of that process. Her approach emphasizes:
Depth and Meaning: Drawing on Jungian and psychodynamic concepts to explore the unconscious roots of present-day struggles
Careful Listening: Bringing close attention to what clients say — and to what remains unspoken
The Whole Person: Considering a client’s relational history, creative life, and inner world alongside their presenting concerns
A Safe, Collaborative Space: Working with clients to establish trust and a shared sense of direction
As a graduate intern, Carolyn works under the direct supervision of Dr. Leigh Anne Terrebonne. All cases are reviewed regularly, and Dr. Terrebonne maintains close oversight of each patient’s care.
